Staff Safety & Training

Safety is the highest priority for the SCESC and the students entrusted to our drivers. The Safety & Training Coordinator and staff regularly performs on-the-road safety spot checks and radar gun speed checks.
SCESC drivers are CDL-licensed and must meet all federal, state and local government requirements. Drivers undergo state and federal criminal history reviews as mandated by the NJ Department of Education. Monthly safety meetings are required of all drivers. Training includes such topics as passenger safety, defensive driving and emergency maneuvers, hazard recognition and evasion and speed and space management.
