Mr. Harold Dunsavage

Harold Dunsavage began his career with the SCESC in 1980 as a Teacher of Physical Education and Health. Over the years, he advanced through a series of leadership roles, serving first as Principal of the Somerset Academy and later as Director of Programming, a position he held for approximately 10 years. In 2008, Mr. Dunsavage was appointed Superintendent of the district.

Among his proudest achievements is the vision and creation of the SCESC Career Center. He has earned a reputation for fostering innovation, building strong school-community partnerships, and prioritizing the success and well-being of every student. Under his guidance, the Commission has consistently advanced its mission of excellence through shared services—serving as a catalyst for cooperative education, administration, and financing to meet the diverse needs of students and school districts across Somerset County and beyond.

Mr. Dunsavage is equally proud of the district’s transportation program, which he believes is one of the finest in the state, distinguished by its commitment to safety, efficiency, and exceptional customer service.

He holds a Master of Arts in Special Education, a Master of Arts in Educational Administration, and a Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education and Health.
